Obituary for John William Bohart
John passed away at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital surrounded by love on February 27, 2018 at the age of 65. He was predeceased by his parents Cora (Biederman) and Henry F. Bohart and his brother Willis, all of Pembroke. Beloved brother of Gloria Peters and Coreen Blackburn, uncle of Wayne Bohart, Karen Goode, Jane Saar, Nancy Blackburn, Ann Blackburn, Susan Blackburn. He will also be remembered and missed by several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
John spent a happy childhood with his family in Pembroke where he attended Schillhart School for children with developmental disabilities. Schillhart School was named for Nora Schilling and his mother Cora Bohart, who were founding members of the organization now known as Community Living Upper Ottawa Valley. From the age of 12 years, John lived at the Rideau Regional Centre in Smiths Falls until it closed in 2009. He especially enjoyed summer vacations at Grippen Lake Camp. John then moved to Ottawa where he has lived at Riverbend House, a home that is part of the Total Communication Environment (TCE) organization. John was very happy and content in these last years of his life, enjoying the attention and love of his caregivers and family.

There will be a Celebration of Life at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 638, 70 Hines Rd. Kanata on Saturday, March 24, 7-10pm.
Funeral Service will be held at the Zohr Family Funeral Home, 194 Jane St. Eganville on Monday, March 26 with visitation beginning at noon and the service at 2pm.
Spring interment at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Pembroke.
