Gordon passed away at the Bonnechere Manor on Easter Sunday morning, April 1, 2018 in his 89th year. He has gone to join his “sweetheart” Teresa Connaughan (May 21, 2010). Dearly loved dad of Kathleen (Joe Bell), Eganville, Judy (Avery Lacourse), Griffith, Bruce (Emily) Kemptville, Darlene (Norm Yantha), Rothesay, Darrell (Carla), Eganville, Cheryl Yantha (Kevin Logel), Kitchener, Brent (Tammy), Picton, Brenda (Rob Beer), Grande Cache, AB. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Andrew Yantha. Gordon was a much loved grandpa of 19 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Dear brother of Evelyn Kuehl-Jobin (Rick), Eganville, Marjorie Timm, Pembroke, Maureen Schweigert (Wesley), Kitchener, Verner (Loma), Ottawa & Emerson (Beatrice), Ottawa. Predeceased by his brothers Eldon (late Lillian) & Garnet. Gordon is also survived by his sister-in-law Pat Connaughan, Eganville & Doreen Miller, Cherry Valley, CA. Dear uncle of several nieces and nephews. Gordon was predeceased by his parents Eric & Hattie (Hoelke).
Gordon worked at Reinke’s Home Hardware for 40+ years, and become known as “the Bicycle Man” around the Eganville area. He loved making lawn ornaments in his retirement years. There are many fond and happy memories of Gordon and his step dancing and yodeling.
Visitation will be held at Zohr Family Funeral Home, Eganville on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9pm and again on Thursday morning after 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. James the Less Catholic Church, Eganville at 11am.
