Agnes Laturski (Visneski)
Agnes passed away peacefully at Marianhill, Pembroke, On Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the age of 90.
She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony “Tony” Laturski (2008). Agnes was born in Round Lake and was the daughter of the late Veronica (Murack) and Joseph Visneskie. Loving mother of Linda (Vince Spilek) of Round Lake Centre and Larry (Miriam) of Woodbridge. Proud Gigi to her grandchildren Melissa (Christopher Harnock) of Heidelberg and Stephanie, Amy and Andrea Laturski and great-grandchildren Owen and Alexandra Harnock. Anges is also survived by her brother Joseph Visneski (Wanda) of Oshawa, Sister Gertrude Godin (late Roland) of Oshawa as well as sister-in-law Gertie Visneski (late Stan) of Pembroke and Shirley Laturski (late Stan) of Oshawa as well as many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sister Laura Cybulski/Perrigo)
Agnes and Tony moved to Oshawa and then Courtice, and lived there for over 40 years before moving to their dream home in Wilno. After Tony passed away, Agnes moved to Pembroke and lived in Riverview Home for 4 years and then called Marianhill home for the last 5 years.
While in her home, Agnes was often found in her workshop. She completed many beautiful landscape paintings as well as detailed Afghans, folk art projects and paper tole scenes. She was extremely talented in her fine crochet projects and quilts. She loved to bake and even invent new recipes. She was always looking to learn something new and was excited to share her progress and accomplishments with her friends and family. In her late years, she still loved to draw and could spend hours looking for craft supplies or new scenes to re-create. Agnes was a talented musician, singing in church choirs and playing her guitar or piano. She was very strong in her faith and always a dedicated member of the church – helping with decorating, bazaars and serving as a lector, Eucharistic minister, rosary leader and choir member. She had been a CWL member and was still a member of the Rosary Society. Gigi lived a life that we all should live. Her church, family and friends were always the most important things in her life. She always had a smile and a loving hug each time you saw her. She made you feel welcomed and always knew what you needed; she always did her very best to help. She looked at each stage of her life in the best possible light and she truly felt blessed each and every day despite the debilitating progress of her Parkinson’s disease.
Visitation will be held at Zohr Family Funeral Home, Killaloe, on Friday July 20, 2018 from 2-5pm and again Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30am.
