1938 – 2019
Sylvia passed away on July 1st surrounded by her sons Ron and Perry, daughter-in-law Michelle and grandson Samson.
Sylvia is predeceased by her loving husband Art, her brother Stan and her sisters-in-law Gale and Loretto.
She was an amazing grandma to Samson, Kaylin and Dana (Zip-line adventure at 75 years old anyone?).
She will be missed by her sisters Gayle (Hank) and Diana (Terry), brothers-in-law Harry (Louise) and Jack, nieces and nephews Jo, Mike and Jenny, Sean and Scott, Linda, Rob and Carol, their spouses and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Sylvia has had a lifetime of cherished relationships with the people in her family, church and community. She was always happy to lend a hand to those in need. In the true spirit of a dedicated volunteer, she didn’t want recognition or to be the focus of attention. It’s in light of that perspective that Sylvia requested that there be no visitation, memorial service or funeral.
Sylvia’s family would like to express our deepest appreciation to the nurses and doctors who cared for her during her stay at Renfrew Victoria Hospital.
Thanks to all of you who have been part of Sylvia’s life and thank you for sharing your stories of her with us. You were all special to her and we are happy that she was important to you.

To Sylvia's family, my deepest sympathy. Sending thoughts and prayers to you all at this sad time.
I haven't know Sylvia for very long...........maybe five or six years. We met through the Wednesday night euchre at Haley's. I liked her immediately, and enjoyed many pleasant conversations with her. She had such a positive attitude about everything. Even when she was going through her treatment if she ever felt down or depressed I would think very few people would have guessed. It was good to see her back at bowling this past year. She will be missed by many I'm sure and never forgotten.

To Sylvia's family , please accept my sincere condolences and sympathies on the loss of your wonderful mother, grandmother , sister ad above all a great friend to many. Sylvia was an avid bowler in our Senior's league here in Renfrew and is our second loss of players in the past days. I am sure her and Shirley will be head Bowling Captains in their new forever home. Rest easy Sylvia, we will miss you but never forget you.

I remember Sylvie as a very strong, independent capable woman. Always positive and giving. Her humor was also a big part of Sylvia. We took down hill sky lessons together some years ago. The instructor asked us to pretend we were holding a quarter between our butt cheeks to help us get the proper posture for going down the hill.... off Sylvie went down the hill and shortly after in the distance we could hear her say " I lost my quarter!!!" We all laughed so hard. She was a joy to spend time with. She lived life to the fullest. I admired her spirit.
I am sure she will be missed by many.
